Plato: When people look at a thing, do they see only what it is?
Aristotle: They see what is before them. They rarely ask what brought it about, or what it may become.
Plato: And they call that knowledge?
Aristotle: Knowledge asks more of us: to distinguish cause from chance, and what is possible from what is merely wished for.
